Luisa Rivera is a artist and illustrator based in London but originally from Chile. It was her work for Soho House, featured on Behance, that first caught my eye. She has an amazing eye for colour and often combines soft pinks with darker blues and greens so that her images look bruised and delicate. Don’t you think that all of her elegant, tranquil women and the fact that she paints in watercolour give her work a 1920’s Art Deco feel?
And then, when you look closely, the details of each scene are always a little surreal or, downright fractured, which contrasts with the traditional style making her images beautiful and surprising.
I spent a long time this week looking through her amazing online portfolio. See what you think!
